It is getting late in the first day of 2010. Today has been a very quiet day after a late night, hence not an amazing amount of news.
Speaking of a late night, a good time appeared to have been had by most, if not all, who attended the party at the yacht club. The decorations and table settings always look better at night than they do in the day and they added to the festive atmosphere.
Whilst we were having our pre-dinner drinks the Commodore came and asked me if I could find the numeral pennants for 2009 and 2010, as it is traditional to hang them on the flag pole for the evening. Not normally a problem, but I had to go up to the Bridge where there was no electricity and scrabble around in the dark to look for the required flags i.e two No. 2 Flags, four No. 0 Flags and one each of the No. 1 and No. 9 Flags. This being done whilst dressed in my smart evening attire, complete with strappy high heel sandals…picture it…a vision of elegance climbing up the not-so-elegant stairs to the Bridge…hmmmm??? Flags were found and duly hung on the flagpole.
Unfortunately, I could not take a photo of the flags, so you will just have to use your imagination.
No photo today! I think I had better make that a New Year’s resolution…not to post a blog without a photo. On the other hand, I do not like making resolutions that will probably be broken. You will just have to make do with a quote…
A new year is a new chance to start a new better life.
Make the most of it!
