Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress… James 1:27 (NIV)
For several months now I have been reading several blogs written by people who have adopted children. Most of these amazing people have, not only adopted children from other parts of the world, but children with special needs.
Through these blogs I have been made aware that November is Orphan Awareness Month. So, to spread the word about the needs in this most needful of areas, I urge you to go to some of these blogs and see if God is prompting you to help in any way…be it considering adoption, donating towards adoptions, prayer, etc.
Adéye and her family are absolutely passionate about adoption. She conveys the needs so much better than I can, so please visit her blog (here) and read her story. WARNING: Her blog not only brings tears to one’s eyes, but often has one pouring those tears onto the keyboard of the computer! Don’t worry, there are also many lighthearted moments 🙂 Thank you, Adéye, for allowing me to put a link to your blog!

These are just a couple of many sites about adoption.
In keeping with today’s topic, I am posting some photos that I took at an orphanage a couple of years ago. For various reasons I cannot give details about the orphanage, but the children are well cared for in difficult circumstances. However, the love they receive is not the same as having a home of their own, with parents that love and adore them.
